David Roth

With over 30 years in the AEC Industry, David Roth joins Mattingly Construction as our Vice President of Strategic Growth. David grew up on the northeast side of Indianapolis and graduated from Bishop Chatard High School. David’s love for drawing and design led him to attend Ball State University, where he graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Post-graduation, David returned to Ball State and completed studies in the Historic Preservation program. David practiced as an LA for over 15 years, working in communities throughout the state completing site development, parks, trails, and main street work. Some of his favorite work was in French Lick and West Baden, where he worked on the revitalization of downtown French Lick. His preservation work includes listing the Indianapolis Park and Boulevard system on the National Register and assisting Marian University with the rehabilitation of Riverdale, the historic James Allison Estate. Transitioning to business development came naturally, as he has a passion for helping people and solving problems.

David and his wife, Michele, have three adult children. Thomas is an electrician, Margaret is an accountant, and Clara is a junior at IU studying recreational therapy. David and his wife have spent a significant amount of time renovating a historic Tudor home. When he’s not fixing something, he enjoys live music and spending time with friends and family.

A couple of fun facts about David: he was Santa at his church, the Easter Bunny at the Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt, and once did the YMCA as a roll of film on top of the dugout at Victory Field. Additionally, he still holds the Indianapolis CYO 220-yard dash record.
